Safe Return to School

COVID-19 Info

Fall Semester 2022 Update

We wish to create a safe school for children and families and respect illness as it arises.  COVID-19 is a reality of life and something that we need to learn to live.  We are focused on offering best practices for our children.  With social emotional considerations in mind, we are resuming our activity to our traditional methods and best practices.

Below is our COVID-19 policy.  Please do your best to think of others and to communicate to the school to help avoid the spread of illness.  These policies may be reviewed and edited over time.  We must remain flexible as we adapt to our ever-changing world.

If you test positive for COVID-19:

  • If you test positive for COVID-19 and have symptoms, isolate for at least 5 days. To calculate your 5-day isolation period, day 0 is your first day of symptoms. Day 1 is the first full day after your symptoms developed. You can leave isolation after 5 full days.
  • You can end isolation after 5 full days if you are fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication and your other symptoms have improved (Loss of taste and smell may persist for weeks or months after recovery and need not delay the end of isolation).
  • You are welcome (not required)n to continue to wear a well-fitting mask around others in public for 5 additional days (day 6 through day 10) after the end of your 5-day isolation period. If you are unable to wear a mask when around others you may continue to isolate for a full 10 days to be careful however this is not required if the symptoms are gone as stated above.  If you have had COVID, try to avoid people who have weakened immune systems or are more likely to get very sick from COVID-19, and nursing homes and other high-risk settings, until after at least 10 days.  We ask that you always exercise caution and care for others.
  • If you continue to have fever or your other symptoms have not improved after 5 days of isolation, you should wait to end your isolation until you are fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication and your other symptoms have improved. Continue to wear a well-fitting mask through day 10. Contact your healthcare provider if you have questions.
Again, please note, we may review and edit this policy as-needed.  It is obvious that we have had to remain open-minded and flexible throughout this process.

Thank you for making health and wellness a priority and most importantly caring for others!
