Dear Classroom 2 Parents,
Welcome to the 2020-21 school year! My name is Tessa Musel and I’m excited to begin my ninth year here at DGM. This will mark my seventh year as a Primary lead teacher, and my tenth year working in a Montessori environment. I began my Montessori Journey at a small Montessori school in Chandler, AZ. I have since studied child psychology as well as early childhood development and received my Montessori Education Diploma in 2013 through American Montessori Society program at South Mountain Community College.
It was during the beginning of my Montessori journey that I realized Maria Montessori was onto something incredible and she really revolutionized the way education is presented to the children. I share the same beliefs that education is something that is just as individualized as the child is. Every child is on a different wavelength, learning and internalizing information on a different level than the child next to them. During this developmental plane, the child has the capability to naturally absorb a plethora of information and our job is to let the child guide us on their educational journey. We are here to serve the child’s hunger and to observe when and where we can take them to reach the next level.
As a parent, you know your child better than anyone and you have a made a conscious decision to send your child to Desert Garden Montessori, trusting that we can give your child the best educational experience possible for them. You know that Maria Montessori’s pedagogy is unparalleled to any other type of education available to children of this age level. The one expectation I have for you is to trust that your child is right where they need to be and that your child will grow and learn when their mind is ready to absorb the bountiful of information the Montessori classroom encompasses.
If you would like to connect with me, please email me anytime at email@example.com. In order for us to serve your child during the school day, please allow for a 24-hour turnaround time for an email response. Please also keep an eye on the Classroom 2 page on our website for additional updates on our communication systems.
We are looking forward to a wonderful year!
