Cassie Tolman


Cassie’s skill and experience in the kitchen are mixed with a heaping dose of imagination and an appetite for new flavors. To develop her passion for plant-based nutrition, wellness, whole foods, sustainability and the relationship between food & healing, Cassie studied Culinary Nutrition at The Natural Gourmet Institute, NYC. She also has an English degree from Arizona State University. Together Cassie and her mom founded and operated Pomegranate Cafe, an organic plant-based eatery in Ahwatukee, for over a decade. Cassie’s home base is now Desert Garden Montessori where her love for children and wholesome healthy food come together to create a unique and joyful edible education cafe called The Hummingbird Nest.
